Graham Purdy
Producer
Despite repeated demands and one federal writ insisting that he dedicate himself full-time to his famous Caesar Salad, so eloquently described by one friend as "wicked", Graham has instead devoted himself to Toronto's Film and Television industry.
Graham graduated from Sheridan College in 1998 with both Marketing and Media Arts diplomas, and has since combined those passions by developing award-winning children's programming and corporate media.
Some of the television programs of which Graham is most proud involved puppets, despite the extra layer of complexity they may add to a production. These programs include:
- "Mr. Meaty" for Nickelodeon (USA) and the CBC,
- "Ooh & Aah" for Disney International, and
- "Big and Small" for the BBC and Treehouse Productions Canada (Fifty-two, 11 minute episodes were shot over a nine month period with a budget in excess of $9.5 million).
John Tran
Director of Photography
John Minh Tran is an award winning Cinematographer. Born in Vietnam and raised in Calgary, John moved to Toronto to attend Ryerson University for film studies. Since graduating in 1995 he has remained in Toronto working as a cinematographer for commercials, industrials, documentary and drama.
A recent winner of the Canadian Society of Cinematographer’s (CSC) Best Documentary Cinematography award for Waterlife (Primitive) – directed by Kevin McMahon, he has also received a Gemini nomination for Cheating Death (NFB) – directed by Eric Geringas, and a CSC Best Documentary Cinematography nomination and Yorkton Golden Sheaf nomination for Mozartballs (Rhombus) – directed by Larry Weinstein.
Ken Woychesko
Producer
Contact Info for Ken Woychesko
Ken Woychesko is a Pilot.
He made us promise that would go first. We wanted to open with his success in building diverse businesses, his experience in developing and executing corporate/project strategies, managing large complicated projects, and script and novel writing. Ken (the Pilot) says: "Flying is just like producing quality media: many independent people and elements can be coordinated into one complex endeavour that successfully provides an enjoyable, memorable experience for your customers."
Ken graduated from McMaster University with an English degree, though his electives were often in the sciences and maths. Oddly enough, Ken immediately began putting this diverse education to work as a Technical Writer. Though as a career he could usually be found neck-deep in technical manuals, validation protocols, and standard operating procedures, Ken never lost his love of the creative arts: he often collaborated on short films with friends, while continuing to exercise his passion for writing.
Rob Shaw
Director, Director of Photography
Rob Shaw is a talented and experienced Director and Director of Photography of Commercials, Industrials, and Television (including small and large puppet-based shows, which require additional attention).
Born in Kitchener, Rob moved to Toronto to attend Ryerson University’s Film Studies program. There are very few positions Rob has not held on a set since graduating: Writer, Assistant Director, Key Grip, Production Manager, Camera Assistant, Editor, etc., Rob has performed them all admirably. All of this experience has allowed Rob to become an extremely effective Director and Director of Photography. To say Rob has a “keen eye” is a gross understatement, as his sample videos below will attest.
Sean Harvey
Director of Photography
Sean's passion for filmmaking began at a very young age. During high school Sean made many films and videos. Wanting to pursue his filmmaking he applied and was accepted into Concordia's Film production program. Since graduating, Sean has been applying his skills to commercials, television and dramatic works, including Gaffing on the Best Short winner at TIFF 2010 (Les fleur de L'age).
Sean has an eye for lighting, detail, and beauty. He is experienced in large-scale productions, short films, 3D, High speed cameras 1000+fps, stop motion films and has operated camera for HGTV & Food network.
"The principles of large-scale lighting are still present when shooting in miniature. I still have to light for 50 extras and a set that would be the size of a city block. But since it's stop motion the whole set is only about 20 feet."
Todd Doldersum
Director
Though Todd Doldersum is an award-winning Director, he is also an extremely talented and experienced Actor, Puppeteer, Puppet-builder, and Editor. Todd cut his acting, writing and directing teeth at Banting Memorial High School in Alliston, ON, where he created many short and feature-length films with a group of friends.
Todd's desire to create video excitement (especially anything monster-related) led him to the Toronto, UK, and LA film & television industries via Special Effects & Make-up, which augmented his acting career. Already a talented sculptor, Todd found that he had a knack for building a diverse assortment of "hot foam" puppets. These puppets, and Todd's puppeteering and comedic acting abilities, were then used to great effect in many award-winning children's television shows for:
- BBC
- Treehouse
- Disney
- YTV
- CBC
- Sprout, and
- Nickelodeon
Zach Zohr
Producer, Director, Director of Photography
Zach graduated in 2002 from the Television Production program at Seneca College, who never let him leave: impressed with his course work, the college scooped Zach up immediately to help produce their in-house productions and course curriculum.
Later, Zach branched out into Toronto’s commercial production industry as a Key Grip, where he became a sought-after expert in lighting, electrical, and other technical aspects of film and video production. In 2007, Zach began working in children’s television and feature films for the likes of:
- CBC
- The Space Channel
- BBC
- Nickelodeon
- YTV, and
- Disney.
